This isn’t an open world where you can go as you please. The routes are stagnant and predetermined. You move your avatar from point to point. Analectsīraveland Trilogy has two parts of gameplay. Well, with one exception which I’ll touch on below. Since the heroes don’t participate in battle and are a simple avatar on the world map, I found it hard to care about their individual tales. Though the writing won’t be winning any awards, it serves its purpose to get your character from point A to point B. The dialogue is brief and sometimes humorous. The stories in Braveland are simplistic and cliche. They slowly build an army of assorted warriors and traverse the lands seeking justice for the downtrodden. Your hero bands together with like minded individuals. At sea, these innocent pirates are accosted by evil ghosts and shipwrecked on a deserted island. The third and final entry is Braveland Pirate.

To begin with the combat is pretty easy, but after about an hour or so you'll find yourself hitting a bit of a wall, with big boss battles that are pretty one-sided. Once they've all run down then the unit is dead. The units strength is represented by a number, and that's how many chunks of health bar that unit gets. Adding more of the same type of unit to your band of fighters makes them tougher, but doesn't add new tactical options. You're not directly involved in the scraps though, you need to recruit archers, warriors, and mages to do the dirty work for you.Įach unit has its own strengths and weaknesses, and a special move that charges as you fight.

You play a magician who sets out to free a world from a mysterious curse. It's a hex-based battler with a reasonably solid sense of humour, solid graphics, and a battle system that relies on knowing how best to use your troop types.īut it's pretty certain you've seen everything it has to offer before, and it's certainly not going to sway anyone with a distaste for the genre. It's a cartoony tactical turn-based RPG that owes a decent amount to pretty much every other game in that genre on the App Store. Braveland Wizard isn't the most original game in the world.
